Discover Ben Owens' Captivating World

There is a Latin phrase reminding us that all that we see in this world will one day come to an end.

Sic transit gloria mundi.

Forget climate change anguish or any other utopian scheme. We are mortal, and the glories of this world are fleeting. So, the intelligent view of life is to take the Designer seriously. Our Creator God created this planet on which we live for humans. It was perfect at creation but has since been degraded by our sin.

If you are holding out hope for a return to perfection with peace and justice, you will be disappointed. News of wars and crime as “senseless violence” only reveals that we don’t recognize human nature and the other, invisible world of Satanic activity. Demonic entities hate humans and focus on creating mayhem, including influencing governments. Until they are dealt with and our sinful human natures are regenerated, nothing will improve.

The way our Creator God highlights the issue is to permit and/or instigate a series of trials for humankind that should cause us to repent and turn to Him for guidance. The ultimate trial will soon be upon the world—the so-called Great Tribulation or the Time of Jacob’s Troubles. It describes an intense, seven-year chaotic period centered on Israel after the current group of hostile Islamists is vanquished and the one called the Beast or Anti-Christ takes power. These novels do not describe the trials themselves (other books do that), but rather the fate of humans who survived the Tribulation and could enter the Millennial Kingdom promised to Israel.

The Kingdom will be the literal fulfillment of a 4,000-year-old promise made to the patriarch Abraham for the nation of Israel, God’s chosen people. In the end times, Israel will assume leadership in an earthly, worldwide kingdom where God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, rules as King. There are descriptions scattered throughout the Old Testament, but the only mention of the duration is in the New Testament book of Revelation, Chapter 20. It will last 1,000 years. The Kingdom will exist from the Lord’s return at the end of the Tribulation until the final worldwide rebellion after a thousand years.

What will life be like in the Kingdom? It promises extreme topography changes, great longevity, personal safety, world peace and justice, health, abundant food, a peaceable animal kingdom, a common worldwide language, a modified Mosaic Law worship pattern, and coexistence with immortal beings who reign and rule with Christ. Satan will be bound so that his demonic minions cannot instigate political and military turmoil. So, you cannot say, “The devil made me do it.”

Still, the Millennial Kingdom will be a test. Can you ruin a utopian world? The answer is yes. We see this as the novels play out.

The intent of the series is to imagine that you may actually be there, given three conditions. First, you have not yet asked the Lord Jesus Christ for Salvation, or else you will disappear before these trials begin. Second, you did not take the mark of the Beast (666) and survived the Great Tribulation period. Third, during the Tribulation you have called upon God for salvation. Then you will travel to Israel to be judged by the Lord Jesus Christ. Are you worthy to enter His Kingdom?

If you are worthy, you will have a potential life span of 1,000 years. What will you make of it? Mortals born in the Kingdom, without your experience of the Tribulation events, must call upon God for salvation just as you did. Imagine how events might play out over a thousand years if many of them refuse this salvation.

Dive into the Series

The Millennial Pioneers novels offer a glimpse into the possibilities for those who survive the Tribulation. Ben Owens envisions a realignment of nations in North America (as illustrated in the attached map) with different priorities.

The Christian fiction series is planned to consist of four novels, with the first two currently available. The Pioneers: Commencement describes the judgment in Israel, and The Pioneers: Cascadia explores how one family might develop in this new nation in the Pacific Northwest. You will be spending eternity somewhere. Now is the time to secure your place in God’s kingdom.
